Universal Health: Protecting People, Everywhere.
December's Universal Health Coverage Day is a reminder that health is deeply personal. It’s shaped not only by the care we receive, but by the environments we move through, the clothes we wear, and the small everyday challenges that often go unseen.
For our Founder, Anna McFadyen, those challenges were constant companions in her working professional life. Living with Psoriatic Arthritis - that’s psoriasis and joint inflammation meant that travel, something typically exciting and inspiring, often became a quiet battle. Long flights dried out her skin. Wet climates triggered flare-ups. Insect-heavy regions resulted in exacerbated immune reactions that lingered long after the workday ended. Even something as simple as fabric rubbing against inflamed skin could change the tone of an entire trip.
But what made it harder was knowing that there wasn’t a single garment that truly understood her needs. She searched for clothing that felt safe, soft, breathable, and beautiful, something that protected her without making her feel different.
She never found it.
So she created it.
The Mozzie Cozzie® wasn’t born from a design brief or a business plan, but from a professional’s suitcase, one woman’s determination to move through the world without pain or compromise. It represents what so many people quietly navigate every day: the desire to feel comfortable in their own skin and confident in their own life.
This year, the British Skin Foundation reports over 60% of British people currently suffer or have suffered from skin disease at some point in their lifetime. Over 10 million adults, young people and children in the UK live with arthritis. That’s one in six people living with the pain, fatigue, disability, mental and financial strain it can cause. The impact can be huge, affecting the ability to work, care for family, and even live independently - a significant public health burden.
This is the spirit of Universal Health Coverage - meeting people where they are, listening to lived experiences, and creating solutions that restore freedom, dignity, and possibility.
Every UHC Day, we honour innovations big and small that make wellbeing more accessible.
We honour the people who turn personal challenges into collective progress.
And we honour the belief that everyone deserves to feel protected, no matter where their journey leads.
Because health isn’t just a system - it’s a human right.
And it can be universal.
